Liverpool defender Joe Gomez may not be at the World Cup but he has taken a starring role playing with holidaymakers at the Kandima Maldives Resort.

Of course there happened to be a camera to mark the occasion.

As well as Joe Gomez and his family, Kandima said it has welcomed a hat trick of European footballers in 2022. Italian football superstars, Davide Calabria (AC Milan) and Patrick Cutrone (Club Empoli / Wolverhampton Wanderers) stayed at the island resort in early 2022, as well as the Spanish footballer, Alex Centelles

So it looks like a good place to go if you want to meet an average footballer and get some sun.

There is no report of the score but it can’t be worse than Liverpool’s Premier League performance so far this season…
